About Your Instructor
Mr. Sujit Dey.
As a child growing up in the Third World, Mr. Dey witnessed and experienced food-borne diseases. Upon completing his BS in Biology and Chemistry, he enrolled in a Clinical Laboratory Technologist course to learn Microbiology and Parasitology. He then worked for a renowned Missionary Hospital and then for the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka as the Chief of the Laboratory. While serving in the embassy, he was trained to become a ServSafe Certified Food Safety Instructor and Proctor by the U.S. Dept. of State. In 2010, Mr. Dey served as a food safety officer for U.S. Military's cafeteria in the U.S. Embassy-Bagdad, Iraq.
Among many awards and professional achievements, he won the prestigious “Charles Robinson" Award from the former Secretary of States Hillary Clinton in 2012 for his contribution to Food Safety.
Besides being certified as a HACCP Manager from NC State University, Mr. Dey completed his PCQi course from Food Safety Preventive Controls Allice, Foodborne Disease Outbreak Investigation course from CDC, & cGMP training from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Dey regularly participates in charity activities and supports a Bangladeshi charity that serves underprivileged children.
